Cantrip Upgrade. The damage increases by 1d6 when you reach levels 5 (2d6), 11 (3d6), and 17 (4d6).

Acid Splash 5.5e 2024 vs. 5e 2014 edition differences

Acid Splash now creates a 5-foot-radius sphere at a point within range instead of choosing one creature or two adjacent creatures. It now affects every creature in that sphere, each making a Dex save. Its school also changed from conjuration to evocation.
