Enhance Ability 5.5e 2024 vs. 5e 2014 edition differences
The 2024 version allows choosing any ability score with Advantage on checks, while the 2014 version grants a specific effect based on the chosen ability. The 2024 version explicitly states "up to 1 hour" duration; the 2014 version's duration is fixed at 1 hour. The 2024 version adds classes (ranger, wizard) that can cast it; the 2014 version does not.
