You touch a willing beast. For the duration of the spell, you can use your action to see through the beast’s eyes and hear what it hears, and continue to do so until you use your action to return to your normal senses.

Beast Sense 5.5e 2024 vs. 5e 2014 edition differences

The 2024 version allows perceiving through the beast's senses and your own simultaneously, and explicitly states you benefit from any special senses it has. The 2014 version only allows seeing and hearing through the beast via an action, with no mention of perceiving through your own senses or special senses.
