Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the healing increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.

Cure Wounds 5.5e 2024 vs. 5e 2014 edition differences

Cure Wounds now heals 2d8 instead of 1d8, and it scales by 2d8 per slot level above 1st instead of 1d8. The 2024 version also no longer has the undead/construct immunity.
