Haste
Choose a willing creature that you can see within range. Until the spell ends, the target's Speed is doubled, it gains a +2 bonus to Armor Class, it has Advantage on Dexterity saving throws, and it gains an additional action on each of its turns. That action can be used to take only the Attack (one attack only), Dash, Disengage, Hide, or Utilize action.
When the spell ends, the target is Incapacitated and has a Speed of 0 until the end of its next turn, as a wave of lethargy washes over it.
Haste 5e 2024 vs. 2014 edition differences
The 2024 version specifies "up to 1 minute" duration, indicating potential early end, whereas the 2014 version states a fixed 1-minute duration. The 2024 version clarifies the additional action can only be used to take specific actions, with "only" emphasizing restriction; the 2014 version states "only" but less explicitly. The end effect changes from "can't move or take actions" to "Incapacitated and Speed 0," which is a more severe condition. The 2024 version also states "Speed" with capitalization.
