Hailstones turn ground in the Cylinder into Difficult Terrain until the end of your next turn.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. The Bludgeoning damage increases by 1d10 for each spell slot level above 4.

Ice Storm 5.5e 2024 vs. 5e 2014 edition differences
The 2024 version increases bludgeoning damage from 2d8 to 2d10 and damage per slot level from 1d8 to 1d10. The description simplifies wording but retains the same effect. No other significant mechanical differences are present.
